The Detroit Highwaymen showed up around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the No Kings protest in Clark Park. A member of the group punched a protester, breaking his nose. Organizers worked to deescalate the situation until police arrived shortly after.

Despite a few disruptions, the protest remained largely peaceful. Thousands turned out and surrounded the stage to listen to artists and speakers, including Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Families brought their children, some protesters brought their dogs, water and snacks were being handed

When I interviewed Janet Kelley yesterday, a mom of 4 who lost everything in a house fire, they had raised $290 through GoFundMe. It was enough for two nights at a Red Roof Inn until they figured something out. Since the story went up this morning, nearly $70K has been donated.
