RLUK is a consortium of the most significant research libraries in the UK and Ireland, and whose purpose is to shape the research library agenda, and contribute to the wider knowledge economy through innovative projects and services that add value and impact to the process of research. We also contribute to the health of society through the preservation and sharing of knowledge: one of the pillars of an open society.

RLUK recognises the impact which Artificial Intelligence, in particular GenAI, is having across our research libraries, and the critical role they play as stewards of trusted knowledge, supporting the responsible and ethical use of AI.
Our strategy for 2022-2025 outlines the ways in which we will harness the collective voice, experience, and expertise of our members, our determination to support them as they face current and emerging challenges, and our ability to act as a confident voice on behalf of the community.

RLUK holds a number of events each year including our annual Conference, the DCDC Conference held in partnership with The National Archives and Jisc, to our Members Meeting and strategic workshops.
