Warner Bros. let the filmmakers seek other distributors, and Ketchup Entertainment acquired the rights to Coyote vs. ACME in March 2025 for $50 million. The movie finally debuted in theaters on Aug. 28, 2026, earning widespread critical praise while grossing a solid $80 million worldwide.

14 Years Later, Batman’s Most Overlooked Movie of the Century Is Officially Free on Streaming

Ryan Epps — Mon, 14 Sep 2026 04:00:19 GMT

There are plenty of Batman stories that focus predominantly on what makes Bruce Wayne good at being Batman, but fewer are interested in asking whether he should still be Batman at all. Age has a funny way of changing the shape of a superhero story, especially when the hero in question has spent decades convincing himself that the next night, the next villain, the next crisis will be the one that finally makes him hang up the mantle. Some versions of Batman are defined by his gadgets, his world-class detective work, or his sheer physicality. One of the best instead starts with the idea that perhaps the body underneath the suit simply can't keep up with nightly crime-fighting anymore.

Vivienne Medrano reveals her plan for Helluva Boss / Hazbin Hotel crossovers

Tasha Robinson — Sun, 13 Sep 2026 12:00:14 GMT

When the news dropped in April 2025 that Vivienne Medrano's adult animated musical series Helluva Boss would join its companion series Hazbin Hotel on Prime Video, Amazon released a video promising a few specific things. Medrano's animation studio Spindlehorse would retain full creative control. New Helluva Boss episodes would eventually be released free on YouTube, alongside the show's previous two seasons. And for the first time, the two shows would cross over in some way, apart from being set in the same shared universe.

Season 3 is the first season of Helluva Boss to launch on Prime Video alongside Hazbin Hotel, though seasons 1 and 2 are still playing free on YouTube, and season 3 will eventually join them there. Season 3 will be split into two segments, with the second half launching some time in 2027. Polygon recently sat down with Medrano to ask what fans should expect from part one of season 3 in October, including what she’s most looking forward to, and what fans can expect from the Hellaverse’s first onscreen pregnancy.

A Lost Piece of Simpsons History Is Making a Much-Needed Comeback

Brian VanHooker — Thu, 10 Sep 2026 13:00:15 GMT

The Simpsons premiered at the end of 1989 and quickly became a phenomenon. The show gave rise to a merchandising juggernaut with Bart Simpson at the center. There were Simpsons plush dolls, Simpsons video games, Simpsons shampoo, and lots and lots of bootleg Simpsons t-shirts. By 1993, it was only natural that The Simpsons would get its own comic book and the print adventures of the Simpson family would last for 25 years, until Bongo Comics, Matt Groening’s publishing company, shut down in 2018.
