Apify integration

82 operationsContent & Research

Apify is a cloud platform for web scraping and automation, built around reusable programs called Actors that crawl sites and produce structured data. With the Apify node, a NoClick workflow can launch Actors and Actor Tasks, wait for results, and pull the scraped items straight out of the resulting dataset. It turns any public website into a data source your automations can act on.

Questions

A synchronous run waits for the Actor to finish and returns results in the same step, with a cap of about 300 seconds, which suits quick scrapes. An asynchronous run starts the job and returns immediately, so for longer crawls you poll the run status and then fetch the dataset items.

Scraped results land in an Apify dataset. You can use Run Actor Sync and Get Dataset Items to receive them directly, or call Get Dataset Items separately against a known dataset ID. Dataset metadata and statistics are also available.

An Actor Task is a saved configuration of an Actor with a specific input preset. Running a Task means you do not have to re-supply the input each time, which is convenient for a scrape you repeat regularly across many workflow runs.

Yes. The node can create, get, update, and delete Apify schedules, letting an Actor or Task run automatically on a recurring basis. You can also manage webhooks so Apify notifies you when a run completes.

It can abort a running Actor, reboot a run, and resurrect a finished run to continue it. It also exposes run logs and details, so a workflow can inspect what happened and decide how to respond.
