  • Laid down 20 October 1942 by Leathem D. Smith Shipbuilding Co., Sturgeon Bay, WI
  • Launched 28 February 1943
  • Delivered in April 1943
  • Commissioned 22 May 1943
  • Sunk by German shore batteries 6 June 1944 off �les Saint-Marcouf during the invasion of Normandy, France, making her the first U.S. Navy ship lost during the invasion
  • Struck from the Naval Register 29 July 1944.
