Ordering samples

A cut sample is a small section (usually around 100x100mm) taken from a full-sized tile, designed to give you a good idea of the colour, texture, and finish. However, because it’s cut from the centre, it may not include edge detail or reflect the full variation in pattern. Full-size tiles show the complete design, are helpful for patterned or decorative options, and give a better sense of scale, especially in your space. Some products are only available as full tiles, so check the product page for sample options.

You can order samples directly from any product page by clicking the “100×100 Cut Sample” button. Some products are only available for full-tile purchase due to their design or material. Alternatively, you’re welcome to visit one of our showrooms to browse in person and take samples home. If you’d like multiple cut samples of the same item to better view pattern or variation, simply increase the quantity in your basket (web orders allow up to 4).

Unless otherwise requested, all samples are supplied unsealed. Our sealants are formulated to maintain the tile’s natural appearance, with the exception of Fila Stone Plus, which enhances colour. To better appreciate the tile’s colours, features, and markings, simply wipe the sample with a damp cloth.

We offer up to four cut samples free of charge by post within the UK mainland (excluding the Highlands). If you’d like more than four samples, or up to 5kg of cut samples, a postage fee will apply:

• Up to 5kg: £4.94
• Up to 10kg: £7.94
• Up to 20kg: £9.95

Full-size tile samples are charged at the standard rate based on weight.

Samples are a great starting point, but keep in mind that natural stone and tiles can vary slightly in tone, texture, and size between batches. We update samples regularly to stay representative, but your final order may not be an exact match. We recommend viewing your sample in the room it will be used, in both natural and artificial light, and reviewing online images too. For added peace of mind, we’re happy to send photos of the current stock batch on request.

All returns must be authorised in advance and sent to our Head Office in Monmouth within 7 days of approval. Returns can be accepted Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Please make sure your returns number is clearly visible on all packaging.

Full-size samples can be returned within 30 days for a refund at our Head Office or by arrangement at stores. Cut samples can also be returned to stores.
