All right, now, this obviously is not a course about containers. This is a course about Kubernetes. But I think it makes sense to know at least a little bit about some common container management tasks. So, I prepared a demo. You can see the steps right here. Let me walk you through this demo so that we can try to understand what is going on. So I'm using docker run with the minus v option. Minus v is making a bind mount. And this bind mount is what you can use to ensure that host storage is available inside the container. The annoying thing about containers is that containers, as we call it, are ephemeral. And that means that they are short living and nothing is done to guarantee that whatever you create in your container is maintained. So, if you want to make sure that your files outlive the lifetime of your container, you need to provide some persistent storage. And here this docker run minus v command is doing just that.
