Staff Systems Engineer

Help build the technology platforms that power SONIFI's hospitality and healthcare solutions.

We're looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Sioux Falls. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on enterprise hardware, infrastructure, system integration, and platform reliability. You'll work across hardware, networking, software, and operations teams to evaluate technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and support the systems that power our products.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, integrate, and support enterprise hardware platforms including servers, storage, networking equipment, UPS systems, and embedded technologies
• Lead system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance analysis across hardware and infrastructure environments
• Partner with engineering teams to support solutions spanning on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Drive hardware lifecycle activities including technology evaluation, component selection, vendor engagement, and long-term platform planning
• Develop automation and tooling to improve testing, operational efficiency, and platform reliability
• Create and maintain technical standards, documentation, and validation processes
  
  

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience working with enterprise hardware, infrastructure platforms, networking technologies, or embedded systems
• Strong Linux or Unix systems knowledge, networking fundamentals, virtualization, and troubleshooting experience
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or Bash
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with hardware validation, system integration, or platform engineering
• Experience with UL, CE, or FCC certification processes
• Experience evaluating enterprise networking technologies
• Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering tools
