Armedia is in search of a remote Sr. Business Analyst. Candidates in the DC Metro area are highly preferred. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building meaningful, compliant, and impactful digital solutions for agencies and organizations serving the public. The Sr. Business Analyst will collaborate closely with clients, product managers, developers, and QA teams in an Agile and Hybrid environment to define clear, actionable, and testable requirements that drive successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:           
  • Lead requirements gathering activities by working closely with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Act as a customer advocate, ensuring business needs and user expectations are accurately represented throughout the project lifecycle
  • Translate business requirements into clear, concise functional and technical requirements for development teams
  • Collaborate daily with developers, QA, UX, and project/product leadership to ensure shared understanding of scope and priorities
  • Facilitate the transition from discovery and analysis into development, ensuring requirements are complete, validated, and ready for implementation
  • Write and manage requirements using both traditional (BRDs, FRDs, use cases) and Agile (user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs) methodologies
  • Support Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives as needed
  • Facilitate and lead product demos, walkthroughs, and stakeholder reviews
  • Develop and deliver end-user training, including training sessions, documentation, and supporting materials
  • Support UAT planning and execution, working with users to validate solutions meet business needs
  • Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies related to requirements and proactively propose solutions
  • Continuously improve BA processes, documentation standards, and stakeholder engagement practices
Required Qualifications:           
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
  • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and first-hand experience working with teams throughout the life cycle. 
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Contour, Confluence, CaliberRM, Figma, Lucidchart, or similar platforms.
  • Recommend user-centered solutions and propose enhancements based on feedback and analytics.
  • Ensure traceability from business requirements through to test cases and delivery.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Proven experience working directly with customers and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical guidance
  • Experience facilitating user training, demos, and workshops
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly driven, self-initiated individual capable of working independently with minimal oversight
  Preferred Qualifications:           
  • IIBA Certified Business Data Analytics (IIBA®-CBDA) 
  • Experience or familiarity with FOIA and/or OIG workflows
  • Experience working on government or regulated projects.
  • Product Owner certification (CSPO, SAFe POPM) or other Agile certifications (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP)
  • Prior experience acting as a Product Owner or hybrid BA/PO role.
