Purpose of the Job
Direct and indirect management and coordination of all plant operations, including distribution operations, production operations, maintenance, safety, quality, and any other operations related activities
Essential Functions
- Manages distribution operations for shipping and receiving.
- Manages production operations, including production planning and scheduling.
- Manages quality, equipment maintenance and safety within the facility.
- Manages operational support for daily billing, receiving, cycle counts, customer returns, and internal and external customer support.
- Responsible for specific KPI metrics for the overall plant performance.
- Controls and minimizes labor, overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
- Provides direction, development, training support and leadership to plant employees
Qualifications to Meet Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management or a related field and over five years plant/general management experience
- Safety-first mindset, with demonstrated ability to improve working conditions and ensure a safe and engaging work environment
- Sound understanding of LEAN concepts with experience in implementing the tools to drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, scheduling methodology and distribution operations
- SAP and/or QuickBooks software experience desirable
- Able to work in a team environment and fulfilling objectives and goals with minimum direct supervision
- Detail-oriented and ability to multitask
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
