Job Summary
This role leads the engineering strategy, delivery, and operational excellence for Novartis’s agentic AI platform. It is central to transforming existing processes into AI-driven products and workflows, ensuring a scalable, secure, and high-performing platform. The Executive Director will work with product leaders, business stakeholders, and technology teams to drive AI transformation and unlock growth opportunities.

Major Accountabilities
Define and lead the engineering strategy, roadmap, and operating model for the agentic AI platform.
Oversee design, development, integration, deployment, and operation of platform capabilities.
Establish platform engineering standards, architectural principles, and development practices (scalability, reliability, security, maintainability).
Lead cross-functional engineering teams to build reusable services, tools, and components.
Partner with product, data, infrastructure, security, and business teams to align capabilities with enterprise priorities.
Drive platform performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Guide modernization of existing systems for integration with agentic AI.
Communicate platform strategy, technical direction, progress, risks, and investment needs to senior executives and stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s or MBA strongly preferred (Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related).
Experience: 15+ years of progressive product management experience, including leadership over senior product leaders, with a strong record of scaling enterprise-level product strategy.
Deep expertise in AI-driven product management, from concept to commercialization in complex enterprise environments.
Proven people leadership and organizational development capability (leading directors and senior product teams, building high-performing organizations, establishing effective operating models).
Strong cross-functional and executive influence skills, partnering with Engineering, Innovation, Commercial, Data Science, and business leadership.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $225,400 – $418,600 USD per year (based on skills and experience; reviewed periodically).
Additional Compensation: Performance-based cash incentive; eligibility for annual equity awards (depending on role level).
