POSITION: Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager
REPORTING TO: President
LOCATION: NYC Metro, Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY:
John Hardy is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager to support our Wholesale and eCommerce business units through data-driven insights and decision-making. This role will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and our Data & Technology teams, transforming complex data into actionable recommendations that improve performance, identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and guide strategic planning. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with technical expertise, leveraging data to uncover what is working, what is not, and where the business should focus its efforts. This role will also partner closely with our third-party analytics provider to manage, evaluate, and continuously improve our eCommerce forecasting models.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Analysis & Insights
- Analyze performance across Wholesale and eCommerce channels to identify growth opportunities and emerging risks.
- Deliver actionable insights that inform business strategy, merchandising decisions, marketing investments, inventory planning, and customer acquisition efforts.
- Lead recurring business reviews that highlight key trends, drivers of performance, and recommended actions.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to support executive decision-making and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish measurement frameworks for success.
Reporting & Analytics
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports that provide visibility into business performance.
- Ensure stakeholders have timely access to accurate and relevant data through self-service reporting solutions where appropriate.
- Continuously improve reporting processes to increase efficiency, consistency, and usability.
Data Strategy & Infrastructure
- Partner closely with the Data & Technology team to define data requirements, improve data architecture, and ensure data is structured appropriately for business analysis.
- Help prioritize data enhancements and identify opportunities to improve data quality, governance, and accessibility.
- Translate business questions into technical requirements and collaborate on the development of analytical datasets and reporting solutions.
Forecasting & Planning
- Serve as the primary business lead for John Hardy's eCommerce forecasting model.
- Manage relationships with external analytics and forecasting partners.
- Evaluate forecasting accuracy, identify opportunities for model improvement, and ensure forecasts align with business objectives and market conditions.
- Provide forecast-based insights to support inventory planning, revenue projections, and strategic decision-making.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with Wholesale, eCommerce, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to drive alignment around business performance and priorities.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and compelling manner.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, strategy, consulting, or related analytical roles.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Experience translating business needs into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Experience managing external partners or vendors.
Preferred
- Experience in luxury, retail, fashion, consumer goods, or eCommerce industries.
- Familiarity with forecasting methodologies and predictive analytics.
- Experience working with data warehouses and modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Understanding of eCommerce metrics, customer analytics, digital marketing performance, and wholesale business models.
