ABOUT AIRA SCIENCES

AIRA Sciences Inc. (Sierra Medical Ltd. UK, trading as AIRA Sciences) is a healthcare technology company focused on improving access to earlier disease detection through infrared spectroscopy and artificial intelligence.

The company operates in an area of growing national importance.

According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 12.8 million Americans are eligible for annual lung cancer screening, yet only 18.7% are currently up to date with screening recommendations. Researchers estimate that more than 62,000 lung cancer deaths could be prevented over five years if all eligible individuals were screened.

These figures highlight a challenge that extends beyond technology alone and into patient access, healthcare delivery, system coordination and implementation.

Founded as Sierra Medical, the company has spent more than a decade developing the scientific, clinical and operational foundations required to support earlier disease detection.

In 2026, the company launched as AIRA Sciences and appointed Dr. Scott Tackett as Chief Executive Officer and President.

Dr. Tackett joins AIRA Sciences following more than a decade at Intuitive Surgical, where he led Global Market Access, Value & Economics initiatives during a period in which the company grew from approximately $2 billion to $11 billion in annual revenue. His doctoral research focused on lung cancer screening programmes and hospital effectiveness.

Founder Dr. Liberty Foreman continues with the company as Chief Innovation Officer and Chair of the Board, leading long-term platform, product and scientific strategy.

The wider leadership team remains in place, including CFO Robert Denton, whilst clinical programmes, regulatory initiatives and product development activities continue as planned.

As part of this next chapter, AIRA Sciences is selectively expanding its Board.

THE BOARD ROLE (INVESTOR-LED)

AIRA Sciences is selectively expanding its Board as the company advances its commercialisation activities and long-term development.

This is a governance-focused role intended for experienced executives, operators and investors who can contribute strategic oversight, independent judgement and long-term perspective.

It is not an operational role and it is not a consultative engagement.

The Board is being expanded to support the company's next stage of development under the leadership of Dr. Scott Tackett and Founder Dr. Liberty Foreman.

Board participation is intentionally structured around ownership alignment and long-term company stewardship.

Board Members are expected to contribute:

  • Strategic oversight
  • Governance and accountability
  • Capital allocation discipline
  • Experience scaling regulated healthcare businesses
  • Independent perspective during key company decisions
  • Long-term support for organisational growth and commercial execution

WHY AIRA SCIENCES

The company has spent more than a decade developing the scientific, clinical and operational foundations required to support commercial deployment.

Today, several important developments are occurring simultaneously:

  • Growing national focus on early cancer detection
  • Increased awareness of the lung cancer screening gap
  • Active clinical validation programmes
  • Established commercial infrastructure
  • Expansion of US operations
  • New executive leadership focused on commercial scale
  • Preparations for future fundraising and growth initiatives

Board participation at this stage provides visibility into a company transitioning from validation towards implementation, adoption and commercial growth.

BOARD CONTRIBUTION

Board Members may contribute to:

  • Governance oversight and strategic decision-making
  • Commercialisation and market adoption strategy
  • Healthcare access and implementation expertise
  • Reimbursement and market access perspectives
  • Scaling regulated healthcare organisations
  • Health economics and outcomes-based decision making
  • Strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement
  • Long-term capital strategy and organisational growth
  • Independent Board-level perspective

Engagement is strategic and periodic, focused on governance-level decision-making rather than day-to-day execution.

COMPENSATION & ALIGNMENT

This is an equity-based Board position aligned with ownership participation in the company.

Board participation is structured for individuals who believe strategic contribution and ownership alignment should operate together.

This is not a cash-compensated position.

IDEAL PROFILE

Candidates will bring 10–20+ years of senior leadership experience across one or more of the following:

  • Healthcare leadership, diagnostics or laboratory operations
  • Commercialisation of regulated healthcare, medtech or healthcare AI platforms
  • Healthcare market access, reimbursement or health economics
  • Executive leadership (CEO, COO, CTO, President, SVP or equivalent)
  • Capital allocation experience through angel investing, venture capital, private equity or principal ownership
  • Board, governance or strategic oversight experience

We are particularly interested in leaders who:

  • Have scaled organisations through periods of growth
  • Understand regulated healthcare environments
  • Bring strategic networks and industry relationships
  • Understand implementation challenges within healthcare systems
  • Have experience navigating adoption, access and reimbursement pathways
  • Engage as long-term owners rather than external advisers

WHY THIS MOMENT MATTERS

The opportunity is no longer simply technological.

The challenge increasingly centres on implementation, adoption and access.

As awareness of the lung cancer screening gap continues to grow, healthcare systems, providers and policymakers are placing greater focus on how eligible patients successfully enter and complete the screening pathway.

With clinical validation activities progressing, commercial infrastructure established and experienced leadership in place, AIRA Sciences is entering a period focused on execution, implementation and scale.

Board expansion at this stage offers participation during a defined commercialisation inflection point.

WHAT HAS NOT CHANGED

While the company has launched as AIRA Sciences and appointed a new CEO, several important elements remain unchanged:

  • Dr. Liberty Foreman remains Founder, Chief Innovation Officer and Chair of the Board
  • The senior leadership team remains in place
  • Clinical validation activities continue
  • AIR-DS Lung remains the lead programme
  • The broader platform roadmap continues
  • The company's mission remains focused on improving access to earlier disease detection

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMITMENT

AIRA Sciences is committed to building a diverse, inclusive and representative Board.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and believe diverse perspectives strengthen governance, decision-making and long-term company development.
