Leadership: As the Vice President, you will play a crucial role in guiding the MVAS and promoting amateur astronomy within the community.
Collaboration: Work closely with other club officers, members, and the community to foster a vibrant and engaged astronomy community.
Program Development: Contribute to planning and organizing stargazing events, educational programs, and talks.
Outreach: Represent MVAS at public events, engage with local schools, and encourage participation in stargazing sessions.
Newsletter: Support the publication of the monthly newsletter, “Telescopic Topics,” by contributing articles or updates.
Meeting Participation: Attend monthly meetings, contribute ideas, and actively participate in discussions.
Special Events: Assist in organizing special events, such as the annual Solar Eclipse T-Shirt Contest and the July Star-B-Que.
Observing Sessions: Encourage and participate in observing sessions, both for members and the public.
Qualifications:
Passion for astronomy and a desire to share knowledge with others.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
Enthusiasm for promoting amateur astronomy in the Mohawk Valley region.
