Can we talk for a minute on the accomplishments of the amazing Jen Easterly? While there are too many to mention here, consider how foundational the call for #SecurebyDesign is to protecting critical infrastructure and essential systems. As Director of CISA these recent years, Jen’s marshalling of resources, her persistent presence in public forums, and overall superhuman campaign to raise national and allied awareness on the importance and urgency of building rigor into products up front represented a new level of commitment. The simple yet powerful message: Build software with the same level of design rigor historically invested in other mission-critical systems to save end customers from having to address cost, complexity, and risk that are 100’s of times more expensive after install.  Though there’s long been hope for industry developers to willingly shift away from prioritizing speed, market share, and features over security, a further push is needed. Credit also to Jen’s 2024 ask of Congress to establish a software liability regime that sets clear standards, while offering safe harbor provisions for companies that adopt secure development protocols - a necessary alignment of incentives. This year at #BlackHat25 there appeared to be a growing presence of code security solutions being offered vs post-deployment breach detection and response. No doubt, Jen has been a force in making that happen.

This is a glimpse into future of Demo Automation with Agentic AI I've seen AI playing a role in the Presales/Solutions space for some time. Automating RFPs, injecting data, call recording software. The next phase is a layer deeper. It's helping us find problems, fix problems, and maintain our demo environments. It's writing the code that makes demos work - not just the click path. Both can be helpful, but in most of my time as an SE I've demo'd beyond a click path. We want AI to produce fully interactive environments that look and behave like the real thing - but are more reliable, predictable, and cost way less to spin up. A consistent theme that arose from Day 1 of the Level Zero OT Cyber Security Conference is how important it is for ICS/OT leaders to have a peer group like that which has been brought together by CS2AI Global - Control System Cyber Security Association International and Derek Harp for this conference. Tom Fanning, the former CEO of Southern Companies, said something that has echoed throughout the day through each speaker: "IT/OT leaders need to work together and collaborate, now more than ever, because the number of threats to critical infrastructure is exploding in volume."
