Our founder and CEO, France Q. Hoang testified before the House Small Business Committee last week — sharing a belief we build BoodleBox around every day: AI isn't here to replace small businesses. It's here to help them grow enough to hire more people. France's advice to founders is always the same: "I always advise businesses to start with the problem that is most at hand. Not the flashiest use case — the thing that's actually broken today."  One example he shared: a Detroit coffee roaster, Tekeyah Gaines, used AI to price her products more accurately and sharpen her marketing. Her average order size went up more than 20%. That's the kind of outcome we think about constantly: not AI for AI's sake, but AI in service of real problems real business owners are actually facing. Grateful to Forbes for covering the hearing. 🔗 in comments.

SaaS has LTV:CAC. But what’s the equivalent in consumer? On Monday, David Bell, Co-Founder of Idea Farm Ventures, and legendary DTC investor behind Warby Parker and Bonobos, joins me to break down “trust economics,” and the frameworks he uses to underwrite breakout brands.  From Diapers.com to Harry’s razors, this episode of Run the Numbers is a deep dive on how consumer businesses actually work - and how the best investors think about product, brand and scale. Hint: There’s a lot of LTV to CAC talk involved. Listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts! Most teams use AI to write emails and brainstorm. That's maybe 10% of what it should be doing. Swipe for 12 things AI can actually run in a business, from tracking competitor pricing in real time to pausing losing ad campaigns and moving the budget on its own. The catch: most AI is great at analyzing and creating, and falls apart on executing. And executing is the work that actually runs your company. We broke down why, and what closes the gap, in "Beyond the Hype." Link in the comments. Save this for your next AI planning conversation. Which of these is your AI actually doing today?

Don't say it... don't say it... don't say it.... CONJOINED! Excited to announce our acquisition of Conjura today. I got a demo of their "Intelligence" agent a few months ago, and was blown away by how useful the back-and-forth conversation was (you can literally just say "which of my products have the highest contribution margin?" and it serves up the answer from your performance data). Coming soon to all Wayflyer customers!

One of the biggest advantages of being in a strong peer community is having people you can turn to when questions come up and a group you genuinely enjoy spending time with. In a recent conversation, John Orta, CLO at Whatnot, shared how he uses The L Suite in his day-to-day: Referrals→When something new comes up, he taps the network to find someone who’s been through it before. Camaraderie→Through conferences and small dinners, he’s gotten to know people who understand the role. A raise is never really about the number. It's about what's behind it: the customers who trusted us early, the investors who see where this goes, and the product we've been shipping all along. That's what today is, a $27M raise, and three kinds of proof arriving at once. Generative AI changed marketing overnight. Teams can now create more content, faster, than any review process was built to handle. The volume didn't just grow, it broke the way legal and marketing work together. More claims to check, more campaigns in flight, the same few people reviewing it all by hand. It's fitting, then, that AI is what puts it back in balance. Blee reviews content before it's published and watches for risk after, so legal and marketing can finally work on the same side. AI raised the stakes, we believe it can help create the solution, too. The full story is in Axios --> https://lnkd.in/gCeSkCbR Grateful to our customers, our team, and our investors including Fin Capital and SMBC's Atlas Beyond Ventures leading this round. Congrats Guy and the whole team for what you've accomplished. Can't wait to see what comes next

If you’ve been anywhere near the Bay Area lately, you’ve probably heard about 996 — the “work 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week” grind. It’s the latest hustle-culture badge of honor. And it’s dumb. Nate Padgett jumped on our blog this week to explain why 996 hurts everyone involved. ▪️ For teams, it kills flexibility and morale. Great people don’t need to be told when to work — they need trust, autonomy, and room to breathe. ▪️ For founders, it misses the point entirely. Building a company (especially hardware) isn’t a 9-to-9 job. It’s 24/7 — but that doesn’t mean your team should suffer for it. At 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭, we believe productivity isn’t about hours clocked — it’s about output and impact. Every hour should count, not just be counted. If you’re building something real, find people who love the work — not just people willing to grind for 72 hours a week. That’s where real progress happens. Read his full take on our blog. 🔗in comments!

Small businesses don't know or care about our acronyms. They care about pragmatic, secure answers that allow their culture and performance to skyrocket. 🚀 It's not about the tech, it's about the benefit. I learned this when I began my IT journey at Apple at 19 years old. (shoutout R006 🫶) Today Foojee is still about the benefit. And that's why we use Iru as our platform to power the Foojee Service Plan and Foojee Compliance Plan. The benefit we get from the Iru platform is more time to spend with our clients, and the things we love. Thank you Richard Adams and Daniel Scott for the opportunity to share some of Foojee's story!

After a week of back-to-back calls with our furthest-along entrepreneurs, three patterns emerged so consistently that we had to talk about them publicly. The first is scarcity mindset. Founders who scraped together every dollar in the early days often carry those survival habits long after the business starts working. But the math changes when your time is worth more. What you did to get here is not always what gets you to the next level. The second is premature diversification. A new product line, a new department, a new app all feel like growth. We have watched too many founders mistake expansion for momentum. If something is working, the answer is almost never to launch something new alongside it. The answer is to do more of the thing that is working. The third is systems. Not 400-page SOPs. Just the tasks your team repeats most often, where consistency is breaking down, documented simply and built one step at a time.
