Capitalised terms not defined in this Cookie Policy have the meanings assigned to them in the Privacy Policy.
How We Use Cookies
The Houzz Platform uses both essential and non-essential cookies. Essential cookies are required for the Platform to operate. For example, essential cookies provide the following functionalities on the Houzz Platform:
- Authentication: Identifies you as being logged into the Platform
- Navigation: Streamlines user navigation and access to essential features, ensuring the website functions correctly and efficiently. Provides access to the content you have chosen to experience on the Platform.
- Security: Ensures secure access to parts of the website and protection against fraudulent activities
- Personalisation: Saves user preferences such as layout and subscription, privacy, and display settings. Remembers when you have added a photo to your ideabook.
- Shopping Cart: Provides a shopping-cart experience, including remembering the items in a shopping cart and ensuring users can complete their purchases.
- Performance: Collects and analyses performance analytics to help ensure the Platform is running smoothly.
The Houzz Platform uses non-essential cookies for functionality that is not required for the Platform to operate. For example, non-essential cookies
- Advertising cookies. These cookies track behavior across different websites to deliver content more relevant to you.
- Analytics cookies. These cookies collect information about how users interact with the Platform helping to improve performance and user experience. In some cases these cookies analyse advertising performance by measuring the performance of ads, preventing the same ad from continuously reappearing, ensuring that ads are properly displayed, and in some cases, making predictions about your preferences and delivering ads both on and off our Platform that are more relevant based on your visits to our Platform and other sites.

How you can manage cookies

Note that if you delete or clear your browser's cookies, you will need to opt-out again.
You can also opt out of targeted advertising that we do through third-party advertising partners such as Google, by visiting resources that they provide including Google's How Google Uses Information from Sites or Apps that Use Our Services, or by interacting with them through digital advertising self-regulatory initiatives available in the European Union (Your Online Choices), United States (Your Ad Choices), and Canada (Your Ad Choices).
