Batik Air Launches ‘Fixed Fares for Your Reunion’ to Make Festive Travel Hassle-Free

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 January 2026 – With Chinese New Year just around the corner, Batik Air today announced the launch of its ‘Fixed Fares for Your Reunion’ campaign, aimed at making festive travel across Malaysia easier, more reliable, and stress-free.

The fixed-fares campaign provide passengers with pre-determined, reliable fares ahead of the peak travel season, allowing families to plan their Chinese New Year journeys with confidence. Recognising that this festive period is one of the busiest travel times in the country, Batik Air’s initiative ensures passengers can focus on the joy of reunion rather than the uncertainty of fluctuating prices or last-minute travel challenges.

Passengers can now enjoy fixed fares from Kuala Lumpur / Subang to Kuching, with one-way fares from RM318 and to Kota Kinabalu, with one-way fares from RM378. The booking period is open now until 13 February 2026, with travel scheduled from 13 to 16 February 2026.

Additionally, Batik Air has also added extra flights from Johor Bahru to Penang (12 to 14 February 2026) and Sibu (13 to 15 February 2026). One-way fares start from RM388 to Penang and RM588 to Sibu, providing passengers with additional flexibility during the festive period.

Batik Air Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said: “We know how stressful travel can be at this time. Batik Air’s ‘Fixed Fares for Your Reunion’ campaign is about giving families one less thing to worry about. The fares are simple, affordable, and flexible, so people can plan their trips without the stress and just focus on being together.”

He added, “To make it even easier, we’ve added extra flights and routes this festive season. At the end of the day, travel is more than just getting on a plane—it’s the start of the celebration. We hope that by making journeys smoother, families can truly enjoy every moment they spend together.”

The Minister of Transport, YB Tuan Loke Siew Fook, welcomed Batik Air’s initiative, noting that affordable and predictable airfares play an important role in supporting festive mobility and social connectivity, particularly during peak travel periods such as Chinese New Year.

“Initiatives like fixed fares and additional flight capacity not only ease the burden on travellers, but also reflect the aviation industry’s shared responsibility in ensuring safe, reliable and accessible air travel for Malaysians across regions, including Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.

Complementing the festive travel initiative, Batik Air has also launched a new student travel programme, ‘’Batik Student Fare” to support students, lecturers, and campus communities. The initiative offers year-round travel discounts to make it easier for students and educators to pursue education, personal development, and exploration. This programme reflects Batik Air’s long-term commitment to empowering the next generation, helping them access opportunities both within Malaysia and abroad.

“Supporting student mobility is an investment in the future of our nation,” Datuk Chandran explained. “The programme enables young Malaysians to travel affordably and confidently, fostering learning, curiosity, and independence. Through this programme, Batik Air is helping students gain experiences that will shape their growth and prepare them for a connected world.”
