Our impact

We’re working hard to minimise our impact on the environment – and that means putting serious effort into the things that are out of sight too. There’s always more to do, but we’re really proud that we do more than most.

‘In 2025, we recycled 26 tonnes of brass.’

Circular economy

Almost all our products are made from solid brass – a durable, endlessly recyclable metal. We recycle all the brass offcuts from our manufacturing process. In 2025, we recycled 26 tonnes of brass.

And any of our products that aren’t quite perfect are sold on online marketplaces at a reduced price to prevent waste.

Plastic-free, natural packaging

From the very beginning, we’ve never used plastic in our packaging – it’s one of our core standpoints. But sending delicate items using only cardboard is a challenge.

We’ve created our own cardboard structures to protect our products in the best, and most responsible, way.

They’re designed and cut with advanced CNC box cutting machines (a tool usually used to make precise bespoke boxes). Again, it’s not something you’ll come across very often in the industry.

Our products are wrapped in tissue paper to protect them from scratches, and the beige-coloured boxes are sealed with water-activated paper tape.

Beige might be boring but, in this instance, it’s beautiful – it means our packaging is simpler to recycle and produces a higher-quality end result too.

Plus, we’ve chosen packaging suppliers who prioritise sourcing sustainable materials. Our shipping boxes, void paper and product leaflets are sourced from FSC-certified forests.

We’ve also swapped the silica gel desiccant sachets included with our antique brass products for a 100% natural, non-toxic clay alternative, and we’re working hard to reduce the amount of packaging we use to reduce consumption and waste.

That’s why we don’t print our instructions either. Instead, you’ll find these by heading to our website or by scanning the QR code on the information slip included in your parcel.

How you can recycle our packaging

Because our packaging is cardboard and paper, it can be easily disposed of in standard paper recycling bins.

Recycling rules vary between countries, regions and areas. We encourage you to check with your local authority to find out how to correctly dispose of our recyclable packaging.

Material identification codes

Our packaging features recycling codes (triangular symbols with chasing arrows).

The codes show that our boxes are made of cardboard (PAP 21) and, to increase the structural integrity of the boxes for transport in some cases, corrugated cardboard (PAP 20).

PAP 22 means there will be paper-based packaging inside the box.

PAP 20, 21, and 22 materials are widely recyclable.

‘Since the start of 2024, we’ve sold 33.96 tonnes of cardboard to be repurposed.’

Electrical products and batteries

Electrical items and batteries should be disposed of separately from other types of waste.

We encourage you to check with your local authority to find out how to correctly sort and dispose of these items.

How we recycle our own packaging

We’ve invested in our own cardboard crushing machine to make bales of clean, dry recyclable cardboard. We sell these bundles to the market to be used again. Since the start of 2024, we've sold 33.96 tonnes of cardboard to be repurposed.

Our purpose-built HQ

We designed and built our own head office ourselves to a high eco specification.

It’s insulated way beyond benchmark standards, and the solar panels on our roof have generated over 91MWh of electricity in 2025.

All in all, it’s a really low-energy space to run.
