The Yanceyville Town Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Kamara Graves Barnett as Town Manager of the Town of Yanceyville. Barnett is a native of the Blanch Community and is married to Jeffrey Barnett and is the mother of one daughter, Jamara Barnett.
She is a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School, Piedmont Community College, and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2010. After graduation, she was employed by Caswell County as a Community Service/Restitution Coordinator and Teen Court Administrator. In 2016, she was hired by the Town of Yanceyville as the Assistant Town Clerk and was subsequently promoted in 2019 to Town Clerk and Assistant Town Manager.
Manager Barnett’s immediate goals for the Town are to develop a comprehensive land use plan, promote economic development, and address future water and sewer infrastructure needs. It is also her goal to improve communication with the citizens of the Town and the general public and improve the overall efficiency of Town operations.
