The sixth edition of the AD Design Show 2025 took place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The inaugural day started with an opening speech by Komal Sharma, head of editorial content, AD India, as she welcomed all to the event. This was followed by a keynote address by Sandeep Lodha, managing director at Conde Nast India, as well as Kavinder Singh, the joint managing director at Pidilite, the title partner of the Mumbai edition.
The AD Lounge, where the opening ceremony took place, was adorned with exquisite chandeliers by Mathieu Lustrerie. This year’s Mumbai edition is in association with Obeetee Carpets & Home, Bombay Sapphire Creative Lab, and Vedica Himalayan Spring Water.
One of the key highlights of Day 1 was the riveting AD Session between Amy Astley, global editorial director and US editor-in-chief at Architectural Digest, and internationally-acclaimed American designer and creative director Kelly Wearstler. The duo discussed the latter’s design language, her recent collaboration with Indian gallery æquō, and cross-cultural design inspirations among other things.
The day also saw guided walkthroughs of the fair. Sandeep Lodha and architect Rupesh Baid took industry experts on a tour of the brands on display, followed by another one by design influencer Ridhi Khosla Jalan and stylist Samir Wadekar, as they admired the various curios on display.
The evening concluded with a runway presentation by péro, giving visitors an exclusive first look of its newest home line, with live music by The Jass B’stards, as patrons celebrated through the evening.
AD’s extended family – its brand partners — presented their latest collections at the event. Here’s a look at some of them.
Pidilite
Mumbai edition’s title partner Pidilite showcased a selection of facades, finishes, floors, stones, tiles, grouts, and green building solutions like low energy rooftop, vertical garden and more at its booth. The idea was to showcase how Pidilite’s solutions integrate into architecture with strength and precision.
Obeetee Carpets & Home
Associate partner Obeetee Carpets & Home displayed its debut furniture line including a single seater sofa, retro accent chair, hour glass console, et al, taking its story of craftsmanship, comfort, and culture forward.
Vedica Himalayan Spring Water
Vedica Himalayan Spring Water, another associate partner of the AD Design Show 2025’s Mumbai edition, had its thoughtfully-designed glass bottles across the venue, providing patrons with much-needed hydration with its naturally alkaline water.
Bombay Sapphire Creative Lab
Bombay Sapphire Creative Lab created a special ‘Liquid Brick’ Bar that was at the AD Lounge. The associate partner brand poured craft cocktails from this bar that was inspired from transparency, water textures and layered sapphire hues.
Aadyam Handwoven, AN ADITYA BIRLA INITIATIVE
In collaboration with designers Rahul Jain and Gunjan Arora of Threadarte Studio, Aadyam Handwoven, AN ADITYA BIRLA INITIATIVE displayed textile art pieces showcasing Kadwa, Tanchoi, Ikat weaving techniques.
ALUMINR
ALUMINR’s booth displayed its ornate doors with refined metalwork such as Whispering Blossoms Door, Sacred Sunflower Door, and a special one named Echoes of Heaven Door designed in collaboration with designer Shimona Bhansali.
Amore Muro
A bespoke luxury design house, Amore Muro showcased a selection of exquisite wallpapers on leather, silk tafeta, sisal, and more with 3D flowers, zardozi and flat thread work on them. Each piece reflected its intricate expertise.
Artize
The bespoke bath brand from the Jaquar Group, Artize presented its ‘Beauty in Black’ collection which had a glossy finish added to its most iconic set of faucets such as Tailwater, Navia, Linea, Tiaara.
ArtCafe
A brand offering solutions such as art curation, art consultancy, and bespoke installations, displayed a selection of pieces like Pichwai art, vintage maps, ceramic plates, tantrik art, 24 forms of Shrinathji.
BESPOKE ART GALLERY AHMEDABAD
The avant garde gallery showcased a group exhibition displaying artworks of Gilli & Marc, Saroj Singh, Ahmed Magdy, Manu Parekh. These explored the contemporary aesthetics of Indian and international artists.
Blanc White
A studio creating thoughtful wall sculptures from reclaimed materials, Blanc White presented a new body of work featuring meditative wall sculptures that focussed on the exploration of nature’s first architectures - cells, folds, contours that pulse quietly with the beginnings of life.
BUROSYS
Offering workspace and lifestyle furniture, BUROSYS unveiled ‘Deliberately Non-Corporate’, a collection built for redefining interaction. The booth highlighted the multifunctional Prismatica Table with a piano, and a soft partition customisable door.
Unventured by Clayventures
Unventured by Clayventures that creates handmade ceramics for spatial experiences, provided its beautiful ceramic plates at the AD Lounge gatherings for serving passarounds to guests. Its booth showcased its debut Roots collection with ness lights, terrain blocks, and more.
CUROQ
A gallery of collectible design, CUROQ debuted its ‘Consciousness in Material Thinking’, in collaboration with Matteo Brioni. Its booth offered insights into the evolving language of conscious materials.
DecorbVibes
A premium online marketplace offering thoughtfully-designed décor objects, DecorbVibes presented a plethora of sculptures, lighting, curios, and more that celebrated craftsmanship, texture, and detail.
Ek Kalakaar Designs
Creating timeless everyday objects using reclaimed or sustainably-sourced materials, Ek Kalakaar Designs displayed products created in collaborations with other designers. It had a bench in collaboration with House of Berserk, and other creations with Abstrac Home.
ekaurr
A décor and lifestyle brand, ekaurr displayed a number of products including cushions, seating, decor objects, lamps, that highlighted its upcycled, handmade products using reclaimed materials. Each piece grew from curiosity and care rather than speed or scale.
FCA
Representing functional art, design, and technology, FCA unveiled its first collection, ILUMAYA, where technology, material and imagination converged. Its dome-like concealed booth concealed objects like mirrors, basins, chairs, etc in futuristic designs.
Fenesta
India’s foremost brand for windows and doors, Fenesta reimagines the fenestration landscape in India. The brand’s booth presented automatic sliding doors, noise cancellation glass display, LED window frame, and more.
FREEDOM TREE
The vibrant booth of FREEDOM TREE had a showcase of its various offerings ranging from cushions, ceiling lamps, dining and decor. It revisited its print archives, and inspired by the past, interpreted new takes on its promise of ‘Good Design Everyday.’
Interio by Godrej
One of India’s leading furniture and design brands for homes and workspaces, Interio by Godrej featured several furniture options at its booth including beds, wardrobes, dining and kitchen setup from its Luma, Ray, Ivy and other ranges. The brand’s chairs also graced the AD Sessions section where speakers and guests alike got a first-hand experience of its comfortable seating.
GROHE
A leading global brand for complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, GROHE showcased the bathroom as a sanctuary by fusing advanced technology, sustainable craftsmanship, and timeless design across its various offerings.
HEY CONCRETE
A design-driven brand offering bold wall panels, artistic murals, crafted cladding bricks, and luxury basins, HEY CONCRETE displayed large samples of its eco-friendly, sustainable, weatherproof walls. These panels highlighted architectural expression with its creative craftsmanship.
Luxury Pavilion by PS Design
A special luxury pavilion housed limited edition furniture pieces from Vahe Ensemble, SCARLET SPLENDOUR, Sources Unlimited, and Elemento. This booth was brought to life by PS Design, ensuring each brand stood out in an equal manner.
VIP Lounge powered by Rustomjee
Designed by Shabnam Gupta of Peacock Life, the VIP Lounge at the show was imagined as an extension of Neelvana, the blue forest dream, evolved into a deeper, lush green universe. A collaboration with Life n Colors wallpapers, the space welcomed visitors through soft sheers, layered fabrics by KVAR. Inside, the area was gently lit with fixtures by GM Modular, and featured furniture and artefacts by Peacock Life.
