About
Our team of over 20 architects and designers shares a mastery of historic precedent to design innovative, empathetic, and energy-efficient custom homes throughout the United States. Each project integrates interior architecture and site features into the most detailed and highly regarded construction documents in the industry while procuring periodic construction estimates to meet our target budgets.
Our 30-year legacy brings a richly visual, curious, and efficient process—resulting in an intimate understanding of homeowners, their aspirations, and requirements. We help our homeowners to see and understand our designs through concept photos, sketches, narratives, and a variety of rendering types and 3D models.
Recent work includes the restoration of a Mediterranean Revival residence still intact with original stone and ironwork from 1921; a new equestrian farmhouse with crisp, modern detailing; a new “national-parks-inspired” homestead; a sizeable addition with porches and pool house to a Colonial Revival home; and a contemporary new estate including rebuilding centuries-old barns. We are furthering our expertise in resilient design and working closely with California communities to rebuild after fire loss and damage.
Our work is characterized by respect for context and microclimate, exceptional craftsmanship, first-quality materials, and an inventive fusion of traditional and contemporary forms. Our mission is to design sustainable homes that honor the past while shaping the future. Though our office is based in Southern California, we design projects across the state and country. Past project locations include Montecito and Atherton, California; Austin, Texas; and Vermont.
