Having amassed $230 million at the box office, Fox will cast its net in the video waters to see how much revenue “Cast Away” can generate in that market beginning June 12.
Featuring Tom Hanks in his Oscar-nominated role, “Cast Away” will come to video dealers with an elaborate double-DVD version priced at $29.98 and a videocassette version priced for the rental market. The DVD version will feature the new 6.1-channel DTS ES and Dolby Digitial EX sound.
Among the extras on the DVD version will be a Hanks interview from “The Charlie Rose Show” and several featurettes on the making of the movie, life as an extra and surviving alone in the wild.
