CBC Charlotte Stations Begin New Affiliate Programming

September brought about a world of change at CBC’s Charlotte television stations. Due to the merger of the UPN and WB networks, WJZY-TV and WMYT-TV have changed their network affiliations. And new programming for both of the brand new networks began earlier this month.
The WB Network ceased operation and merged with UPN to form the CW Network. WJZY-TV, formerly a UPN affiliate known as WJZY UPN 46, made the leap and launched WJZY CW 46 on September 18th, when the New CW Network hit the air for the first time. Now WJZY CW 46 offers the best of two networks, keeping all the same hit shows and adding a few new ones.

So where did that leave WMYT-TV? Formerly known as WWWB-TV, the WB affiliate for Charlotte, the station changed its call letters in April in anticipation of its new affiliation. WMYT, now familiarly known as MY TV12, has joined forces with FOX’s new My Network TV.
The new network began its new primetime programming on September 5th.
“MY TV12 is thrilled to be a part of My Network TV,” said WJZY & WMYT General Manager Will Davis. “News Corp. has succeeded on every level with The Fox Network, FOX News Channel, and FX entertainment channel. We anticipate the same success with My Network TV in Charlotte.
