Bengals rookie running back Chris Evans threw a bevy of moves at the Super Bowl champion Buccaneers in Saturday night's preseason opener and his one-yard run with 13 seconds left in the first half gave them a 7-6 lead. Evans, a sixth-rounder out of Michigan, had seven carries for 17 yards, many of them coming on slithering second efforts, before putting his head and down and slamming in for the go-ahead touchdown.

Two Bengals veterans didn't play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Super Bowl champion Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium, but they may have had the biggest impact on the first trip of the year. 

The Bengals head into their first preseason game in two years Saturday night (7:30-Cincinnati's Channel 12) literally in the eye of the storm with Hall-of-Fame traveling exhibit Tom Brady supposed to take the first couple of snaps for the Super Bowl champion Buccaneers. But for second-year tight end Thaddeus Moss, a Bengals tight end candidate, there isn't much he hasn't seen in the 23 years he has quickly grown up. His mother says he's always thought like an old man.
