Jersey’s next General Election will take place in 2022. The exact date is due to be debated and agreed on 20 April 2021. The current States Assembly will also debate and agree whether to update the Law to:
- Remove the role of Senator from the Assembly
- Increase the number of Deputies in the Assembly
- Restructure the voting districts from 12 to nine
More information about the proposed changes to roles, new electoral districts, voting by post, pre-poll and candidates standing for election will be shared here as soon as it is available.
When you go to vote you will need to take photographic identification with you, such as a driving licence or a passport. You will be greeted by staff who will mark your name off on the electoral register and give you your ballot papers. You will then be able to go to the voting booth to cast your vote by putting an ‘x’ beside the name of your preferred candidate. You will be asked to place your ballot papers into the ballot box.
