    Very clear explanation of how useful it is for govt to road-test their lies unofficially/anonymously via client journalists before deciding on their official response.

    I’m probably going to regret this but here are a few things about lobby reporting/‘no 10 sources’ it might be useful to know (small thread follows, RIP my mentions)

    Few more details this morning - -small number of people in No 10 knew that Cummings had gone to Durham, not stayed in London -seems it was his sister who had offered to help with childcare when he and his wife fell ill -family stayed in separate house + had no contact in the end

    Look at this behaviour by . - Firstly she subtweets ’s story to undermine it. - Secondly she comments on the story to undermine it. Based on? Anonymous “source” in Gov who feeds her lines. This isn’t responsible public journalism- it’s working for No10.

    Some good news! He just got it back! Thank you and whoever found it/handed it in!!

    There's so much be sad and worried about right now, but top of my list is the fact my son's nice clarinet has gone missing. Even though this is small fry compared to the rest & there's nothing I can do about it. Emotions are stubborn in their choice of priorities.

    On a related note, the very worst thing about Johnson's wittering "freeborn British right to go to the pub" comments from early March is that his idiotic and fatal lack of action is PRECISELY what is now curtailing that right. We are LESS FREE because he failed to act.

    This can't be stressed enough. The reason there is debate about whether it is safe to reopen our schools at this stage is that the pandemic has been so appallingly handled in the UK.
