According to a local hospital, two people were killed and four are in "fair condition" after a shooting at Walmart distribution center in Red Bluff. Local media reported a man with an “AR-type weapon” started firing after appearing to ram a vehicle into the building, which started a fire.

Louisville authorities say one man was killed and another was injured in a shooting at around 9:00 PM in Jefferson Square Park downtown Louisville, where protesters have been gathering for weeks to protest the police shooting of Breonna Taylor. The LMPD has cleared the park as homicide detectives are investigating the incident. Police are yet to identify a suspect.

In a 36-14 vote, the Mississippi Senate passed a resolution that will begin the process of changing the state's flag, which was established in 1894. The flag currently features the Confederate emblem. Debate on a final bill can now begin as soon as Sunday and will only need a simple majority to pass. Governor Tate Reeves has said he will sign the bill to remove the emblem.

The Ivy League school announced that it will rename the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy and International affairs to The Princeton School of Public and International Affairs citing Wilson's racist thinking and policies as the reason for the removal of his name. Woodrow Wilson served as the 28th president of the US and was also once a president of the university. The residential college at Princeton that also hosts his name will be renamed First College.

The US reported a record 45,942 new COVID-19 cases in a single day on Saturday. Texas, Florida and Arizona each set new statewide records for new daily cases. Florida reported 9,585 new cases on Saturday, exceeding the previous record the day before.

Dozens of heavily armed gunmen attacked Mexico City's police chief on Friday morning in a failed assassination attempt that killed three people, including two bodyguards of police chief Omar García Harfuch.
