Kevin Brown

The Rt. Rev. Kevin S. Brown is the eleventh bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware.

Bishop Brown grew up in Asheville, North Carolina.  He is a graduate of Duke University with a double major in Psychology and Mathematics.  He has served as an Acquisitions Officer in the United States Air Force and held multiple roles in finance and marketing for FedEx Express and eventually started his own financial management firm.

Bishop Brown discerned his call to the priesthood and received his Master of Divinity from The General Theological Seminary in 2007.  His has been Rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Paris, Tennessee and Church of the Holy Comforter in Charlotte, North Carolina.  During his time as Rector at Holy Comforter, he inspired growth in the breadth and impact of ministries in, with, and to the wider community.  including the development of a pre-school dedicated to access for low-income and immigrant families.

Therefore, because of his contributions as priest and bishop, his commitment to interfaith dialogue and leadership development, and his many gifts as a leader in the church, this seminary is pleased and honored to bestow on The Rt. Rev. Kevin S. Brown the degree of Doctor of Divinity, honoris causa.
