  • NYCEDC Seeks Operator to Bring New Events and Programming to Staten Island’s Richmond County Bank Ballpark

    New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) today released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for professional event operators to coordinate and manage events at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark in Staten Island, home of the Staten Island Yankees. Through the proposal, NYCEDC aims to expand use of the stadium beyond the 38-game season with new community, entertainment, charitable and sporting events that will augment the St. George neighborhood on Staten Island’s burgeoning North Shore.

  • NYCEDC, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and Community Partners Launch “Jamaica Is”

    New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and the Jamaica NOW Leadership Council today launched a citywide,13-week long marketing campaign that aims to elevate local businesses and promote economic growth in the southeast Queens neighborhood. Through a partnership with NYC + Company, the “Jamaica Is,” campaign will appear on bus shelters and DOITT’s Link NYC kiosks throughout the city. The campaign is part of the City’s Jamaica NOW action plan and was implemented to promote the neighborhood’s history, eclectic restaurants, local arts and small businesses as a destination for families, innovation and culture.

Though BAT is mostly known for its modern manufacturing space, there is also a large public recreation area right behind the iconic, century-old buildings. NYCEDC on behalf of the city of New York is issuing a public bid for construction along Water Street in lower Manhattan to provide for sidewalk and street reconstruction; intersection improvements; landscaping; and plaza improvements to Whitehall Plaza and Coenties Slip Plaza as well as roadway and sidewalk reconstruction on Moore Street between Water Street and Pearl Street.
