Ryan Serhant was born in Houston, Texas on July 2, 1984. He is the son of John and Ellen Serhant. Ryan was raised by his family in Topsfield, Massachusetts, which is just north of Boston. He would also spend his summers growing up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Ryan attended Pingree School and would attend the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp in the summer. He would later attend Hamilton College. Here, he had a double major in English Literature and Theater, and became a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Upon finishing his studies, he relocated to New York City to pursue his acting career.
He has been engaged to attorney Emilia Bechrakis since September 2014, when he closed down Times Square so he could propose to his longtime love.
It was in 2007 when Ryan landed a part in the hit daytime soap opera “As the World Turns.” He portrayed character Evan Walsh for just one year. Ryan also appeared in a few short motion pictures, including “Overheard in NYC,” “Happy Birthday/I’m Dead” and “Withdrawal.” In 2014, he appeared in the Noah Baumbach feature film “While We’re Young,” which also starred Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried.
Either because he was disillusioned with the entertainment industry or because he wanted to pursue another career route, Ryan became a real estate agent, and has been very successful at it. He is employed at Nest Seekers International in New York City, where Ryan has been ranked near the top in lists of most successful sales people in the City That Never Sleeps.
Due to his immense success, television network Bravo approached Ryan in 2012 to star on the reality television series “Million Dollar Listing New York.” He stars alongside fellow realty brokers Luis D. Ortiz and Fredrik Eklund. Ryan has also made appearances on an array of networks, such as CNN, CNBC and FOX.
Ryan has tried is hand at producing, too. He created, produced and stars in the real estate web series called “Reality Byte with Ryan Serhant.”
