Space Projects & References

Developed as cross-industry technologies, both TTP and TTEthernet have seen considerable interest also from the space community early on. Hence quite a number of research projects have been carried out. In 2007, NASA decided to deploy TTEthernet on the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) as backbone network. This major reference project is highlighted in this section together with a growing number of others. Currently a lot of work is being carried out in Europe with two main objectives:

  • To demonstrate the applicability of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) and advanced embedded computing concepts to all kinds of space vehicles.
  • To develop  a new family of European TTEthernet solutions for space applications.
