Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure‐Track)

The School of Music at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, invites applications for a tenure‐track Assistant/Associate Professor position of voice to begin Fall 2016.
This appointment will be full‐time (nine month), and will contribute to the College of Music and Dramatic Arts’ mission to offer a comprehensive music program. This position will teach at both undergraduate and graduate level, recruit and retain high quality voice students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to the Vocal Studies area, which includes voice, opera, and choral studies.

The LSU School of Music offers a comprehensive music program with nearly 500 majors. It has over 50 faculty, 20 professional staff and 90 graduate assistants. It sponsors nearly 300 recitals, concerts, operas, and lectures each academic year. Degrees offered include the PhD (with concentrations in composition, music education, musicology and music theory), DMA (concentrations in choral conducting, performance, wind conducting), MM, BM, BME and BA (Liberal Arts).

Required Qualifications:
The LSU School of Music seeks a nationally recognized artist/teacher of voice. Applicants must have a DMA in Voice or extraordinary experience as an artist/teacher of voice with an active performance career.
A.B.D. may be considered so long as degree is conferred by August 2016.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre‐employment background check.
