Is there any pattern to them? Like before she goes off to school, or when she gets home?
If it would make you feel better, you could take her to the pedi and discuss what has been going on.
Some children are just more sensitive and maybe the new baby is making her feel anxious.....like, will my parents still love me now that there is a new baby?
Of course children can't verbalize that, but they come out in symptoms like a stomach ache or behaviors.
You know your daughter best, so don't discount your mommy instinct.
Take care,

The US has seen a decline in all of the aforementioned care characteristics. Instead of being physically close to their parents, infants spend more time in carriers and strollers. Hardly 15 percent of mothers breast-feed their infants, extended families are broken apart and playing outside freely has decreased significantly since 1970.
According to an interdisciplinary research presented at a symposium at the University of Notre Dame, social practice and cultural influences of modern lifestyle are inhibiting the development of healthy brain and emotions in children.

Wondering what kind of support and advice are you seeking?

I've visited this thread from a google search multiple times through the years and thought I would post here.
I'm a 23 yr old male, with very dry skin (eczema) since youth. I lived in the US, studied abroad in Australia when I was 21. Since I came back, my hands have started to turn bright red. No other symptoms, no pain or numbness, not even a cold sensation.
It gets better if I shower in the mornings, but always comes back at night. One doctor suggested that my blood vessels may be slightly enlarged.
Honestly, no one has no idea what causes this embarrassing issue. I drink a lot of alcohol, and it seems to be less severe after months of no alcohol consumption, but I doubt your teenagers drink as much as me.
I'm always hoping to get a response but I flat out just don't know. I moved to Japan three weeks ago, and although the humidity has done wonders for my skin..it hasn't helped the red hands at all. It's so frustrating!!!!View Thread
However, they can be very rude, defiant, and downright mean.
This has been a pattern since I first started watching them 7 weeks ago. They are more rude to their parents than they are to me. They argue with everything they're supposed to do. The younger one throws huge screaming temper tantrums. When they argue I stay calm, use a normal tone of voice, repeat my request, and have consequences. I have never yelled at them.
The most hurtful thing though is that the older one makes a lot of catty, backhanded comments. I feel like it's hard to tell her that these are hurtful, she'll ask me why it's mean to say it.
Here are some examples:
"I'm not saying that you're not pretty (meaningful pause)"
"You're too blond"
"Woah, your eye is crooked" (I had surgery to correct a lazy eye a few years ago)
"Can I do your nails? They (meaningful pause) really need to be done"
Outside of this job I feel pretty confident. I have a loving boyfriend, great friends, I'm close to my family. But one shift leaves me drained, exhausted, sad, and crushingly insecure. Today I called the eye surgeon to see if my eyes are really that bad (my boyfriend and friends say they don't look crooked) and I was thinking that I might as well get a nose job at the same time, but...I can't afford surgery. I realized this is crazy talk. But that's how I feel when working with them, like I'm unbearably ugly and it hurts.
Their parents either ignore their rudeness or get in screaming fights with them in front of me. I don't feel like it's my place to tell the parents about it because I'm just the help, who am I to tell them how to parent?
I don't know what to do. I would appreciate any advice you have.View Thread

Previous research has linked children's television viewing with obesity and other problems. But the new study finds even less screen time may be enough to influence children's weights.
This was only TV screen time; no other screen activities were evaluated. No link was found between computer use and unhealthy weights."
Read the article above for more information on the study's findings and what you might be able to do to combat TV watching associated weight gain.
Do you have any limits set for TV watching?View Thread

My son has all the symptoms and pain of this disease and his xrays are showing he probably has it def. in one hip and I got a hold of all his paperwork from the Dr.s and they failed to tell me now, he has a mild flattening of the femur bone (the head) in the other one as well.. We got approved for Shriners in Sacramento , CA. Now just waiting on a Dr. to be assigned to him. As of now they are very full and my son is on crutches most of the time. I really would like to go to Mount Sinai Hospital with Dr. Standard, but not sure financially we would be able to do the trip out there and where would we stay if we could, lol... he is the best I hear in this disease.View Thread
