Operated as an educational and outreach service of the School of Visual Arts, the gallery exhibits work by students, faculty, and artists of regional and national importance.

Burruss Hall Auditorium seats 3,000 and is used for both classes and performances. The Division of Student Affairs programs this space.

    Haymarket Theatre

The Haymarket Theatre is a 500-seat proscenium theatre on the second floor of Squires Student Center. The School of Performing Arts programs this theatre.

Henderson Amphitheatre

The Henderson Amphitheatre is an intimate outdoor venue just behind Theatre 101. The space is ideal for storytelling, small improv groups, musical entertainment, and open-air teaching. The School of Performing Arts programs this amphitheatre.

 

    Henderson Lawn

Henderson Lawn is bordered by Alumni Mall, Main Street, and College Avenue. The lawn is used for many performances and events throughout the year. Henderson Lawn is programmed by the Virginia Tech Event Planning Office.

The Department of Engineering, Science, and Mechanics and the Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention jointly host a series of art exhibits throughout the year.

 

    Moss Arts Center

The Center for the Arts presents world-class performances and exhibitions in the Moss Arts Center’s spaces:

The center’s galleries, both in combination and individually, provide intimate settings for exhibiting a variety of traditional, digital, and experimental works and installations from international artists, faculty, students, and community-based projects.

The university-level Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology, also in the Moss Arts Center, uses multiple studios support its cross-disciplinary research at the nexus of art, design, engineering, and science. Studios include state-of-the-art acoustic spaces with multi-channel audio, motion capture systems, and flexible spaces for design development, fabrication, and prototyping.

The gallery on the second floor of the student center hosts rotating exhibits programmed by the Division of Student Affairs.

 

    Recital Salon

The Recital Salon seats 240 and is acoustically designed with good sight lines and is home to many music performances. The salon is programmed by the School of Performing Arts.

 

    Studio Theatre

The Studio Theatre is a three-quarter thrust/modified proscenium space designed by theatre faculty member Randy Ward. The 222-seat theatre is programmed by the School of Performing Arts.

 

    Theatre 101

Opened in fall of 2009, Theatre 101 is a 42-by-42-foot experimental black box space with a lighting grid at 18 feet, 6 inches above a finished floor. The School of Performing Arts programs this theatre.

 

    Wallace Hall Gallery

Wallace Gallery is in the atrium of the first floor of Wallace Hall and is managed by the Department of Apparel, Housing, and Resource Management. The space is approximately 14 feet by 35 feet.
