Configuration Devices

Altera's serial configuration devices are the industry's easiest-to-use configuration devices.

Engineered for Maximum Efficiency

Altera's serial configuration devices are the industry's easiest-to-use configuration devices:

  • Designed for maximum efficiency
  • Offer in-system programmability (ISP) and reprogramming capabilities not available with one-time-programmable devices
  • Provide longer life cycles than commodity serial flash products.

Altera's serial configuration devices are the ideal complement to Altera® FPGAs. Altera offers families of serial configuration devices that are designed to support specific Altera FPGA families.

Altera serial configuration devices work with dedicated logic in Cyclone®, Stratix®, and Arria® devices to implement reliable remote system upgrade. Dedicated recovery circuitry guarantees "always operational" functionality by ensuring that even if an update or configuration error occurs, the FPGA always return to a known state to operate correctly.
