Brewster Kahle
Founder & Digital Librarian
Dear Patron,
I want to thank the thousands of Internet Archivists who supported us this year. We know not everyone can give, but those who do help ensure that the treasures of our shared humanity will be available to everyone. For free.
Thanks to many of you, we have been able to preserve 2 million books, 430 billion web pages, 3 million hours of television, music, software and more.
Your support goes directly to paying for the servers, bandwidth and staff that make all this knowledge safe and massively accessible.
A big part of our costs is our staff--about 140 of us. We choose to work the Internet Archive—not at one of the get-rich-quick companies—because we believe in what we are doing. We know our work can affect a huge number of people.
I also donate to the Archive, because I know giving a small amount of time or money can inform millions. It’s a small lever to be able to move the world.
Thank you for joining me.
