That’s a really interesting concept. I hadn’t really considered that. I wonder if we’ll be seeing that or if it’s too difficult to produce.
I think a lot of people who are looking for primarily a fitness tracker will agree that the battery life isn’t good enough.
Thanks for checking this out!
Makes sense. The choice definitely comes down to what each different wearable has for features and comfort.

I couldn’t agree more. Since I don’t normally wear watches, it’s not really an issue for me, but I could see how wearing a watch on one wrist and the Band on the other could be too much.
I honestly don’t find the Band to be uncomfortable. I’m not that concerned with how it looks either. The Fitbit and Jawbone I wouldn’t consider stylish by any means either. It’s not the Apple Watch or Moto 360, but it’s also not nearly as expensive as those devices.
What exactly are you looking to get out of a fitness tracker? It looks like the Smash is mostly for tennis.
The post I linked to above has a lot of what you can expect with the Band right now. Your choice is going to largely come down to what’s most important to you. What features do you most want? What kind of lifestyle do you lead as far as fitness? What information would you like to track?
I could definitely see not wanting to wear two bigger devices. It wasn’t too bad for me since I don’t normally wear a watch. If you were going to replace your mechanical watch I think it would make more sense.
Battery life is better than most smart watches, but it definitely won’t get through a week. I’ve had it for a few days now and I only charge it about an hour a day when I’m in the shower and getting ready for work or for bed. It’s never dipped below 50% and it charges relatively quickly. And sure, the Jawbones are way smaller and thinner.
It does actually integrate with MyFitnessPal, which I like to use to track food. I don’t care too much for Apple’s Healthkit, I think Microsoft Health shows a lot of promise, and it seems like they are eager to work with as many other 3rd party apps and devices as possible. It is definitely tough to predict Microsoft though.

I’ve been going back and forth with this. My 920 is really slow now and the battery only lasts me until about noon so I’m constantly having to either turn on battery saver mode or keep it charging.
I’ve had Windows Phones since Windows Mobile 6.5. I loved the live tiles that WP7 brought, and of course the overhaul WP8.1 has. But I’ve been having this exact conversation a lot recently. I have an upgrade available to me but MS isn’t releasing a flagship before the holiday. I’ve decided to buy the 830 outright to tide me over until next year. Windows 10 is going to be my last go. After seeing how amazing the hardware is on the iPhone 6, if MS can’t come up with something big for W10 then I might have to sadly switch.
