So how much did the NFL pay for that infrastructure? Or did Microsoft do that for free?

I agree, they got more than a million dollars of ads, they got $400 million worth of ads that you can see on the field and during the halftime show.

Sure, partly because of that, but mostly because of the 400 million.

The only reason the NFL is using the Surface is because Microsoft paid them $400 million to do it. It’s part of a 5 year marketing agreement.

They delivered it by putting a rugged water proof case on it. There are countless rugged water proof cases available for other tablets too. Not impressive.

The 2-year contract is still cheaper than AT&T; NEXT if you have grandfathered unlimited, which my wife and I have.

If they don’t cannibalize their own, somebody else will. Avoiding cannibalization is a sacred cow, and it needs to be slaughtered.

A prime example is the iPod/iPhone. What would it look like it Apple tried to avoid cannibalization of their iPod by the iPhone? We would see features withheld on the iPhone. They didn’t do that and they’re iPod line is dying, but it would have died anyways. It’s a good thing they cannibalized their own product, and companies should not be afraid of doing it.

I would like it if Apple added stylus support, but it needs to be done right. It needs really low latency to feel real, lower than any current table/phablet stylus.

1ms would be holy grail, but 10ms would be great, and better than all the competition. Currently, the best tablets have ~100ms average stylus latency.

You guys are rediculous. So the world is pathetic because people can’t identify a surface? Oh! if only they could identify a surface, the world would be in such a better state! You live in an alternate reality. There’s a lot more going on in the world than tech gadgets.

Sports casters don’t use these tools. They sit in a press box with a head set watching the game and the surfaces on the desk during the halftime show are props.

It’s just about as beneficial as dual monitors on a desktop. Not so useful if you already have a multi-screen setup.

On my mac I can flip left and right to other desktops with a three finger flick on the touch pad. I can even drag stuff from one desktop to another by holding my left finger down on a file or something while swiping three fingers with my right hand. It fast and really makes my laptop feel like a multi-monitor setup.

It’s probably detecting his thumb print when he presses the home button and authenticating from that. Try it with a finger print that isn’t authenticated to the phone.

Media Center is on life support. Microsoft hasn’t updated it since Windows7. If it’s included with Windows 10, I’d be surprised if there are any updates.

Cable TV is dying, and it’s days are numbered. When 20-somethings move out on their own these days, the vast majority don’t subscribe to cable anymore. The next generation doesn’t care about cable.

Yes please to File Explorer tabs. They really help me organize finder windows on my Mac, and I miss them on my work machine.

I jailbroke my iPad so I could use a PS4 controller as a MFi Controller for games.

I think I would agree with that, it is human nature. That’s why we have civilization, society, and laws. People left to their own devices will do lots of bad things because it’s in their nature. The natural world is not kind.

That AirPlay-Direct feature was a rumor and doesn’t exist.

I tried to get it working for ~30 minutes after updating my iPhone and AppleTV to iOS8. Nothing I tried worked and Apple’s documentation still says Airplay only works when both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

I don’t think he was talking about the phone, I thought he was talking about the dual phone stand, so he could compare shots between 5s and 6+.
