Here is how to update or correct setlists that appear in the Show listings for each artist.

To update a setlist in the main database, look up the Show and click the bold label for "Set 1" or "Set 2" or whatever you want to change. Then, make the change. To change the date, venue, city and state, click the Edit show icon, and correct whatever is needed. If it's not obvious why you're making the change, give a short explanation when you're prompted to. After you submit your correction, it will go to a queue for approval or rejection by admins.

Some do's and don'ts on how to update (or enter) a setlist:

DO:
- make master setlist entries conform to a generic, as-played-at-venue style for everyone to use.
- include all songs the band played that night.
- break the songs up by set rather than disc.
- include information about guests, debuts, versions of songs in the "Notes" area.
- include information about bootlegs of that particular show in the "Notes" area, to enable other users to use this information to link their shows properly.

DON'T:
- include or add track timings, track numbers or disc numbers.
- include or add source recording information.
- note songs that weren't recorded or broadcast on your copy, or that were cut/fade in/fade out.
- include filler from other dates or bands.
- include banter tracks, intros/outros, DJ announcements, crowd noise, applause, etc. If you can't hum it, it's not a song.
- remove any songs from an existing record unless the existing data are wrong.
- put the title of a bootleg in the "venue" field if the venue is known (put it in the comments field, instead).
- create a new, separate record for an "alternate version" of a show (CD, video, DVD, etc.).

The idea is to make the master setlist a historical record of the performance that any user can link to, regardless of where the recording came from or what format the user collects (CDs, DATs, hard drives). Any information that distinguishes your recording from the master Show listing can go into the Notes section of your own list, if you wish.

If you edit a Show that has no setlist or no real date (e.g., ??/??/39) the changes may be rejected if it's not obviously an improvement. These empty entries are very difficult to use or clean up without setlist information.

BTW: Do not place any setlists on this wiki page. They will be deleted.
