As part of its investment program, LLPM has acquired a two-storey building in the district of Penampang, about 12 km from the city of Kota Kinabalu in 2007. The investment is meant to diversify and complement LLPM’s income in the short and long term.

Nations Sharing Information To Enhance Cyber Security |

The increasing number of cyber threats call for a new approach in defending nations and the public from cyber criminals. Notably, the sharing of information between nations is seen as a critical aspect in narrowing down on cyber culprits across boarders. At present only a handful of nations share information to zero in at cyber criminals.
Prof Dr. Ramlan Mahmod, the dean of the Computer Science and Information Technology Faculty at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), stressed that sharing of information on cyber threats through an 'alliance' involving a big number of nations would be the bedrock for global cyber security.

Recent developments indicate the Oil & Gas industry will continue to be a major mover of the economy in Labuan. This augurs well with the Government’s aspiration to develop Labuan as a petrochemical hub.Several months ago, Deputy Prime Minister visited the island and officiated at the signing ceremony of an MOU between two of the island’s major corporate entities. The cooperation is expected to attract new investments and industry players to the island and boost their respective capabilities. More recently, the Minister of Federal Territory and Urban Well-Being, in a statement, expected the sector to fluorish in Labuan as a part of the Government’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) to develop Malaysia into a high-income economy.

Labuan Liberty Port has been the main cargo port in Labuan for more than half a century that is since the time Labuan served as a trading post under the British rule. It has grown since in terms of cargo traffic, ship calls, efficiency and capability by leaps and bounds.
