Beverly Hills, CA (April 12, 2012) – Fifty-one entries from 29 countries, along with 518 entries from students representing 105 U.S. colleges and universities, are in competition for the 2012 Student Academy Awards. The competition – now in its 39th year – will culminate in the awards presentation, on Saturday, June 9, at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Beverly Hills, CA (April 11, 2012) – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has promoted Randy Haberkamp to the newly created position of Managing Director, Programming, Education and Preservation, Academy COO Ric Robertson announced today. Haberkamp will report directly to Robertson.

Beverly Hills, CA (April 9, 2012) – The documentary short subjects "Living for 32" and "One Thousand Pictures: RFK’s Last Journey," and the documentary feature "This Way of Life" will screen as the next installment in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 30th annual "Contemporary Documentaries" series on Wednesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. Admission to all screenings in the series is free.

Beverly Hills, CA (April 4, 2012) – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, as part of its "Monday Nights with Oscar®," series will celebrate the 65th anniversary of "Gentleman’s Agreement" with a screening on Monday, April 23, at 7 p.m. at the Academy Theater at Lighthouse International in New York City.

The deadline to apply for media credentials for the 84th Academy Awards, including the Nominations Announcement and the Nominees Luncheon, has now passed. We are unable to accept late applications.
Applications for Oscars Setup Credentials will be available in late January.
