I've had issues playing an mpeg-2 file on the network while it's recording SD content. It thinks the mpeg-2 file is a HD file, and just won't do it. If I'm recording something and watching an avi file over the network, then stops the avi file, the whole thing freezes and recording fails with a 0 byte (usually) file. MAJOR FAIL, I think. The product has significant issues playing downloaded avi files. Screen blacks out with a loud screech and unit freezes. Only way to resolve is by turning power off and on again. Tech support continue to ignore issues suggesting it is a coding problem with newer avi files, however these files work fine on a 5 year old DivX player. Buyers beware as all the functionality on the unit is great but it simply fails at the most basic of functions and that is to play video files. Leave a Comment
