The Green River Preserve is an environmental summer camp, located on a beautiful 3400 acre private wildlife preserve in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Our unique program offers a creative, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating approach to connecting children to the joy and wonder of the natural world.
For rising 2nd through 9th graders, we offer 1, 2 and 3 week co-ed programs. With morning hikes to explore the Preserve, and a wide variety of afternoon activities, campers enjoy a care-free world filled with outdoor fun, creative energy and the joys of a close knit community. Green River Preserve enrolls only 104 campers per session and offers a camper to staff ratio of 3 to 1.
For rising 9th through 12th graders, we offer Green River Expeditions, 13 to 18 day �graduate programs� in leadership development and outdoor learning and adventure. Designed for both experienced and inexperienced adventurers, these programs follow the Green River tradition of combining learning with exploration. Co-ed groups of up to twelve students and three Green River staff explore the Blue Ridge Mountains or the legendary Outer Banks of North Carolina.
