The
Center objectives could be summed up in the following points:
- To preserve and promote Palestinian Cultural
Heritage such as Authentic dresses, jewelry, furniture, rare pieces, and
Palestinian household items, as well as the art of embroidery.
- To employ women from villages and refugee camps
throughout the West Bank. Some of these camps are Dehesha, 'Azza and
Aida. For many women this is the sole income for their families
especially since men are not able to work due to curfews, lack of jobs
and work restrictions.
- To produce embroidery items that will be
available for purchase.
- To assist in the documentation and preservation of
Palestinian cultural heritage and history, by establishing a
professional permanent exhibition in Bethlehem.
- To Organize and conduct presentations and live
shows on the history and meaning of Palestinian costumes
- To promote Palestinian culture to young
Palestinians as well as to tourists and visitors, arriving from around
the world to the city of Bethlehem.
- To exhibit authentically designed pieces along
with the imitated items which are based on traditional designs.
- To revive the beauty of Palestinian traditional
embroidery
