XBL trailers: Mass Effect, Lost Planet out now
[UPDATE] X06 walk-through trailer of Bioware's action RPG and "Theater" trailer of Capcom's sci-fi shooter now available; Mass Effect trailer now on GameSpot.
Following just behind the latest trailer for Halo 3, which was released on Monday, a few new trailers for another pair of highly anticipated games are invading Xbox Live Marketplace.
Now available on Microsoft's online service is the "Theater" trailer for Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, the upcoming sci-fi shooter from Capcom. The 60-second trailer shows the snowy setting of the game and a large battle between opposing forces, and it features the tagline "Blood runs cold."
Fans of Mass Effect will be happy to know that a new trailer of the supersecret action role-playing game will be released this Friday, according to Chris Priestly, community coordinator at BioWare. In a post on the game's official forums, he says that after a long time coming, the X06 walk-through trailer will appear on both Xbox Live Marketplace and the BioWare Web site.
Priestly goes on to detail some of the trailer's contents in a separate post. "You will be seeing the video that was shown at X06 almost in its entirety, with only a very little filler material removed." He also says the X06 demos, which were given independently to media outlets, ran about 20 minutes long with pauses in action and replaying certain scenes. However, he did not give any indication how long the Xbox Live Marketplace trailer would be.
[UPDATE] The Mass Effect walkthrough trailer is now available to view on GameSpot, and clocks in at almost five-and-a-half minutes long.
Lost Planet is due in stores January 12. Mass Effect will be released sometime in 2007.

Ugh... the Mass Effect video doesn't look so hot. Animations are herky jerky and the combat looks clunky and unsophisticated. I hope I'm jumping the proverbial gun here, 'cause I've been really looking forward to that one.

Mass Effect is definitly the stand out title of these two. I watched the new trailer off xbox live and it not only looks impressive, but massive too, a great combination. Seemed liked the frame rate slowed down a bit during gun fire action, I hope they can fix this. Come on guys, 60 fps or more, this is the next -gen after all.

Mass Effect looks ri-goddamn-diculous! I cannot wait to get that game. I would stand in line for hours if I had to.

I am going to be broke in 2007. Honestly I really want a ps3 but at this rate I really don't see the need with all these titles coming out. Sony better hope they can get some of these titles on the ps3 too.

Mass Effect looked quite amazing. I'm a little worried about the auto aim feature because if it isn't done right, it could seriously hinder the game. But what am I saying? It's FRIGGIN BIOWARE. NO OFFENSE to the Halo lovers (I'm one of them) but I think BioWare is the best game company. That includes Bungie. Halo is great and I'm pumped for Halo 3. But Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn is one of my favorite pc games, Jade EMpire was fun, KOTOR rocked, they can't do any wrong in m book. I bought the 360 at launch when I heard they had support from BioWare. F&*% PS3. YOu guys see the article in the NY Times about it not being that great? And even this website showing the screens. Hahaha, Sony fanboys suck.

fire_hive... look for the Lost Planet trailer here next week sometime... It's not out for media outlets yet...

when will the new Lost planet trailer hit Game spot? I don't have access to a 360 where i am. As a side note, w/ the exception of the squeamish combat system (due to video possibly) this game looks amazing. I hope the galaxy is as large as they're making it out to be.
Bioware, where did all this awsomeness come from all the sudden? Bioshock also looks good. GOOOOO Xbox 360!

In reference to Kill-U:
I would hope they put out Mass Effect for both consoles, because then BioWare would get more $$....so more $$ to get more developers and make better games.

I wish they would stop making great 360 games as my finances are taking a hit. O.o

Posted Dec 8, 2006 2:31 pm PT
I just Hope that these companies don't stab microsoft in the back and make them for the ps3 like Bethesda did with oblivion.

Wow, the opening scene of the space world was amazing! Never played KOTOR (brand new package still sitting unopened stored somewhere) but Mass Effect has my interest.
Lost Planet - Wow!

Everyone is mentioning great games like Mass Effect, Lost Planet, Halo 3, and such...but lets not forget yet another great looking game called Stranglehold. If you liked Max Payne, you're gonna love this!

trailers don't do much for me---show me demos and real game footage---that's what sells me.
Posted Dec 8, 2006 5:45 am PT
For me 2007 is going to be an amazing year! Blue Dragon, Lost Planet, Mass Effect, Forza 2, Fable 2, Bio Sphere and the frosting on the cake Halo 3. Wow!!!
And if you don't own an Xbox360, IMO, you will miss the single greatest year for one console ever. Of course we will be able to judge this in 1 year, but what fun that one year will be.
Posted Dec 8, 2006 5:41 am PT
mass effect is going to be awesome, i am happy that i own a 360, and 2007 will be the year of the xbox 360, so manny awesome games on the way like lost planet, fable2, forza 2 , mass effect and the king of kings - halo 3
Posted Dec 8, 2006 5:23 am PT
I cant wait for the new Trailer of Mass Effect. To me, its the best IP RPG next year.
Posted Dec 8, 2006 5:17 am PT
360 doubters, load up your guns. You're gonna need all the ammo you can afford in 2007. It could very well be the year of the Xbox.
Posted Dec 8, 2006 4:58 am PT
Mass Effect is teh 2007 GOTY!!1!!!1111
Yeah, seriously, while I like BIAHH and Halo 3 a lot, Mass Effect is what made me to buy 360 instead of freakin' cool DX10 PC.
Posted Dec 8, 2006 1:43 am PT
Mass Effect is like pure awesomeness, but somehow incarnated and put onto a disc. Lost Planet...Well, to put it bluntly, I think it looks crap. Both the demos were crap and the graphics don't seem right.
