Will Tingley reposted thisWill Tingley reposted thisFILTHY x MADE BY DYSLEXIA I didn't like school, and school didn’t like me much either. You see when I was young, no one was discussing Dyslexia or Neurodiversity, (A.D.D. A.D.H.D). At my school you were labelled “E.S.N” - Educationally Subnormal - and in less polite circles called stupid and generally discarded. When describing dyslexia most focus on what you can’t do: read well, spell, or write with ease. What rarely gets communicated are the incredible skills and attributes dyslexic thinkers bring to the world. It’s no coincidence that around 40% of entrepreneurs are dyslexic - and that we wouldn’t have the light bulb, motor car, Apple products or Filthy Food if it wasn’t for dyslexic thinkers. So why is it still widely seen as a disability? Why are 1 in 5 children with dyslexia still struggling in silence at school, unidentified, unsupported and ultimately feeling less than? That’s why our partnership with Made By Dyslexia matters so much. This isn’t charity — it’s personal. Filthy exists because of dyslexic thinking. I exist because of it. And we’re proud to back a movement that reframes dyslexia not as a weakness, but as a different kind of strength the world desperately needs. This isn’t just words. We’re putting the Made By Dyslexia mark on our packaging to spark conversation in every bar, restaurant, and home our products reach. And we’re committing a portion of our profits to fuel their mission — to teach the world the brilliance of Dyslexic Thinking and empower it in every home, workplace and school. I want to personally thank Kate Griggs for believing in this partnership and for the work the team at Made By Dyslexia does to change the narrative. If you, your children or any one you know wants to learn more, visit www.madebydyslexia.org Love, Daniel 🫒❤️

You loose the shot, then decide afterwards what counts as a bullseye. It looks impressive on TikTok. In reality it is buggy slop used to show off frontier models, not tools or workflows to make a real game. That's why I built this talk around a framework instead of a highlight reel. "𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻" walks through five places you can actually leverage agentic AI to change how a game gets made: - Reclaiming capacity - Shortening loops - Restructuring work - Managing interfaces - Improving signal Built from real studio work, so you walk out able to apply it to your own team on Monday. Will Tingley reacted on thisWill Tingley reacted on thisWhen I finally reached the summit of Everest, I scooped a handful of the snow into a small bottle and carried it all the way home. That bottle sat quietly on a shelf for years. Then Shara and I had our boys. Jesse, then Marmaduke, then Huckleberry. And when the time came to have each of them christened, we used the water to christen them. Water from the highest, hardest, most dangerous place I have ever stood, poured gently over three tiny heads. Those boys had arrived into our lives not long after a season of real loss, and it felt like something whole again. That small ritual taught me what faith and family have always meant to me. The point of the climb was never the summit itself. It was carrying something sacred back down the mountain, to the people I love most. We can spend a whole life reaching for peaks. Money, status, the view from the top. None of it counts for very much until there is someone at the bottom to bring it home to, and something greater than yourself to kneel before. What are you carrying back down your mountain, and who is it really for?

I'm currently attempting one of the longest solo ocean rowing expeditions ever undertaken, rowing more than 15,500 miles, completely solo, unsupported and non stop, from Peru to Eastern Africa, crossing both the Pacific and Indian Oceans. For nearly a year my entire world has been a seven metre rowing boat. There are no support vessels. No ports. No resupply. No one to take over when conditions become too much. Every mile is powered by nothing but the oars in my hands. I sleep in a cabin no bigger than a cupboard, make my own drinking water from the sea, generate my own electricity from solar power and document the journey as it happens, the storms, the wildlife, the setbacks, the repairs, the isolation and the moments that make it all worthwhile. I'm doing this to raise vital funds and awareness for Rock 2 Recovery UK CIC, a charity supporting serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans, emergency services personnel and their families. If you're new here, welcome aboard. You're joining this expedition with thousands of miles already behind me, thousands more still to come and some of the biggest challenges of the journey still ahead. Follow along and experience the rest of the journey with me. Will Tingley liked thisWill Tingley liked thisHow do I power an entire boat in the middle of the ocean? ☀️🔋 One of the questions I get asked most is how I keep all of the systems on board running when I'm thousands of miles from land. The answer is surprisingly simple... almost everything relies on solar power. I've got 10 solar panels spread across the boat, two on the forward cabin, four on the rowing deck, two above the aft cabin and another two on the transom. The reason for so many isn't because I need endless power. It's because when you're relying on the sun in the middle of the ocean, you have to build in redundancy. If one panel fails, the others can keep the essentials running. There are backup power systems available, but I chose to rely on solar and build the boat with contingency in mind. Out here, every decision is about reducing risk. Because when something breaks, there isn't a repair shop over the horizon. Will Tingley reacted on thisWill Tingley reacted on thisDAY 304 🌊 Today was exactly what the forecast promised. Rain squalls, building seas and by the end of the day the swells were pushing 4.5 metres. It wasn't the most enjoyable day on the water, and at times it felt more like a sleigh ride than an ocean row. It took everything just to stay in the seat. These are the days when the ocean demands your full attention. The upside is that conditions like this usually bring good progress. I'm hoping for around 60 miles, but tonight's decision is an important one. Do I let the boat keep running with a small drogue off the stern and make the most of the favourable conditions, or do I play it safe and deploy the parachute anchor? The drogue means a much more comfortable night in the cabin and allows me to keep making progress. The parachute anchor is the safer option if the weather worsens, but it almost brings the journey to a standstill. Sometimes ocean rowing is about knowing when to push, and when to hold back. It's been a physical day, but if I'm honest... I quite enjoyed the fight. The time flew by, the miles kept ticking over and now I'm looking forward to a well earned night's sleep. Will Tingley reacted on thisWill Tingley reacted on thisDAY 301 🌅 Some days you have to work for every single mile. Today was one of those days. The Indian Ocean was almost flat, with barely a metre of swell and very light winds. It might sound ideal, but without the ocean giving you a helping hand, every stroke has to come from you. It was hot, hard work and I felt every one of the 40 miles I covered. 🚣 It wasn't without its challenges either. My four deck solar panels have stopped charging the batteries. The panels themselves are still producing power, but somewhere between them and the batteries something isn't doing its job. I spent the best part of an hour checking connections and tomorrow I'll be swapping out the MPPT controller in the hope that solves the problem. If not, it'll be time to call on the experts who built the boat. Thankfully, the main cabin solar panels are still doing the heavy lifting, so it's not a disaster. But out here, you want every bit of power you can get. ☀️🔋 Despite the setbacks, it was a good day. Another beautiful sunset, another 40 miles behind me and, most importantly, another day closer to Mombasa. I'll take that. Dr Richard Wilson OBE
Budget 2025: Taxes, Productivity and Growth The Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, delivered her second Budget on 26thNovember 2025. The Budget included the following announcements: 1️⃣ The Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR) forecasts that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will grow by 1.5 per cent in 2025, above the 1 per cent predicted earlier this year, but growth for 2026 to 2029 is predicted to be lower. 2️⃣ The OBR also predicts that productivity growth will be 0.3 per cent lower, at 1 per cent by the end of the forecast. 3️⃣ Inflation will be 3.5 per cent in 2025, 2.5 per cent in 2026. 4️⃣ The OBR notes that the Budget will raise taxes by £26 billion by 2029-30. The tax take will be at an all-time high of 38 per cent of GDP in 2030-31. The increase in taxes will be achieved via: freezing tax thresholds on personal tax and employer NICs contributions for three years from 2028-29 to 2030/21; taxing salary sacrificed pension contributions above £2,000 from 2029; increasing the tax rates on property, savings and dividends by 2 per cent; reduced capital gains tax relief; higher gambling levy, etc. 5️⃣ Public debt is forecast to increase from 83.1 per cent of GDP to 83.7 per cent in 2028-29, then declining to 83 per cent in 2029-30. 6️⃣ The cash ISA allowance will be cut from £20,000 to £12,000 for people under 65, from 2027. 7️⃣ The Two-child benefit cap will be scrapped. The current limit restricts the number of children for whom low-income families can claim welfare benefits. 8️⃣ Full time workers on the National Living Wage will see a rise of £900 a year, while full-time workers on the 18-20 National Minimum wage rate will experience an increase of £1,500. 9️⃣ The Government will keep the £1 million Annual Investment Allowance offers to offer immediate tax relief on plant and machinery equipment. 🔟 The Government also announced some technical changes regarding AVEC, VGEC and VFX. There is more detail here: Creative industries and Research and Development tax reliefs: administrative changes - GOV.UK Today’s Budget saw the Chancellor focus on rebuilding her fiscal headroom via tax increases to meet her key fiscal rules. The Government needs to drive economic growth across the UK. The video games industry can support this objective. Our industry generates £12 billion in Gross Value Added annually, supports more than 73,000 jobs (including approximately 28,000 developers), and contributes £2.2 billion in tax revenues. The best way to accelerate growth in the UK video games industry is to enhance our Video Games Expenditure Credit (VGEC). TIGA research with the University of Portsmouth shows that a VGEC with a rate of 53 per cent on qualifying costs for games with budgets of up to £15 million could create over 6,000 jobs including over 800 development roles, whilst generating tax revenues for HM Treasury. TIGA will continue to make the case for an enhanced VGEC and measures to improve studios' access to finance.
