About

Founded in 2001, our centre is a place of sanctuary and support where everyone from the West Midlands area and beyond is welcome.

The Cancer Support Centre can help anyone who has received a diagnosis and also their support network, and we are here whenever you need help.

At The Cancer Support Centre we know that the impact of having cancer isn’t just a physical one.

Cancer affects everything… you, your family, and those surrounding you.

Meet the Team

We believe in supporting the whole of you – your mind, body and spirit, and those who are around you.

Our aim is to help you feel as well as you possibly can at all times.

You may have just received a diagnosis, be about to have surgery or receive hospital treatments, be currently undergoing conventional treatments such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy, have finished your treatment and been discharged, be approaching one of the many follow-up appointments, or be supporting a loved one on their journey.

Wherever you are and whatever your needs, we are here to help and support you. Everyone’s experience is different, and everyone’s needs are different, and our support is as individual as you are.

Whilst we don’t offer conventional medical procedures, we offer complementary treatments as one-to-one sessions and groups, to ensure that your mind is in the best possible health, whilst your body recovers from the ongoing challenges that cancer presents.

During our group talks and workshops we share tips and techniques, and our therapists will guide you as to which ones they believe will be most beneficial for you, so that you can use them when you need them most.

You’re never alone at The Cancer Support Centre.

Our professionally trained therapists can help anyone suffering from the challenging side effects of conventional cancer treatments. After an initial chat, we can help you to decide on the best holistic treatments, which consider the mind, body and spirit, and tailor a plan bespoke to your personal requirements and wellbeing.

We currently offer a number of complementary therapies which are aimed at addressing your specific needs and challenges. These include acupuncture, aromatherapy, reflexology and holistic facials, to allow you to be pampered and take time out just for you. We also offer one-to-one counselling and holistic sessions, both beneficial in keeping your mind fit and healthy.

As well as individual sessions, our wide range of group activities includes Tai Chi, arts and crafts sessions, and even singing, allowing you time to meet fellow people going through similar experiences.

We can even offer you ways to help your body manage and cope with its ongoing changes, by suggesting nutritious and healthy recipes, ideal when your tastebuds and appetite aren’t feeling like eating food.

We know that life might feel a little out of control at the moment, but at the The Cancer Support Centre we’re always here to help. We will help you to rebuild your confidence, take back control and start making your own choices again.
