A rapidly scaling client came to Sure Oak facing a bottleneck: despite consistent traffic, conversion rates were stagnating. Their site was weighed down by outdated architecture, inconsistent keyword strategy, and an overload of underperforming content. Worse, valuable leads weren’t making it past the consideration stage.
This client—a leader in the cybersecurity space—takes an aggressive approach to perimeter defense: it focuses on prevention, not reaction. In an unprecedentedly dangerous threat landscape, with ransomware and other attacks on a continual rise, this client grants its customers a rare peace of mind by illuminating their entire external attack perimeter—ensuring that they’re not operating in the dark. Potential threats are made visible long before they can become a serious problem, and active threats can be flagged and promptly dealt with.
While many cybersecurity companies rely almost entirely on automation, this client stands apart through a distinctly human approach. A dedicated team of ethical white-hat hackers continuously probes customers’ systems, uncovering vulnerabilities that can be addressed before they escalate. Rather than overwhelming users with endless alerts—most of them false positives—its tools prioritize only the most critical risks. By eliminating the “boy who cried wolf” effect common in the industry, this approach allows IT teams to stay focused, act with clarity, and respond to what truly matters.
In truth, it was neither—it was the strategy. This required our SEO team to quickly pivot optimization efforts to ensure the new consolidated pages could rank effectively for the targeted keywords.
They needed more of the right traffic, guided by a sharper funnel and cleaner site experience. That’s where we came in.
Moreover, our client requested support with AI-specific SEO optimizations. In response, we provided best practice recommendations to improve their visibility in AI-driven search results.
Few industries change at a faster rate than cybersecurity. It’s built into the field: solutions that work one year might be outmoded by the next, as cybercriminals refine their methods, seek out new vulnerabilities, and force leaders in the cybersecurity field to rapidly seek out new defensive measures. Accordingly, any external agency that works with a cybersecurity company has to get used to changing at the same pace.
The relentless increase in cybercrime ushered in by the pandemic has been terrible for affected businesses—but it has also, inevitably, led to a boom in cybersecurity solutions. There are, right now, more cybersecurity products on the market than ever: any IT buyer seeking the right solution for their company will find themselves inundated with potential options, and trying to figure out what distinguishes one from another can feel impossible.
Sometimes, we’ll work with a client who only wants help with one aspect of their SEO—say, a more robust back-linking campaign or better-optimized website content. This client, by contrast, was after the full range of our services, from content development to link-building and beyond. Developing a 360-degree SEO game plan wouldn’t be easy—but we felt more than up to the task.
The Sure Oak team began by deeply mapping the customer journey—from awareness to decision—and identified gaps where prospects dropped off. We reorganized the site structure around high-intent pages, ensuring buyers had clear next steps at every stage. This wasn't about adding more content—it was about making content convert. Since the client decided to keep the old pages live, we developed a dual approach: actively de-optimizing the old pages while fully optimizing the new consolidated pages. Every URL, title tag, and CTA was restructured to guide prospects, not just rank.
Blog and landing pages were cannibalizing each other. This involved tailored on-page efforts, including creating detailed SEO content briefs for the new pages that aligned with both keyword targeting and search intent. These briefs helped the new pages rank for the primary keywords previously held by the old pages. Concurrently, we pivoted the old pages to focus on secondary keywords to avoid keyword cannibalization. We merged overlapping topics, rewrote thin content, and deleted what didn’t serve a purpose. The result was a streamlined, more authoritative site with fewer distractions.
We reviewed their top keywords and filtered them through three lenses: buyer intent, stage of funnel, and revenue potential. That led to targeting a new keyword set—less flashy, more actionable. We replaced “high-volume” vanity terms with ones designed to attract decision-makers. Our audit also examined how well the content cited expert opinions, industry reports, and academic research to boost authority. We reviewed schema markup implementation and the strategic use of headings (H1, H2, H3) to improve content structure. This analysis was converted into actionable tasks that the client could implement to enhance their performance in AI-driven search results.
We launched a focused link building campaign aimed at earning authoritative backlinks from trusted construction industry sites. No spammy directories. No link farms. Just high-quality placements that told Google: these are the definitive pages for our target keywords. By securing coverage in relevant industry publications, we built real topical authority. As a result, rankings for high-intent pages surged, SEO visibility expanded, and conversions followed suit, solidifying the client’s dominance in niche SERPs.
Content improvements designed for AI extraction and visibility helped more than double traffic from AI-powered platforms during the first half of 2025.
Organic Traffic
The strategy helped turn stronger search visibility into a 74.34% increase in free account registrations.
The client expanded its reach through traditional organic search while also building visibility within emerging AI-powered search platforms.
A cleaner website structure, consolidated content, buyer-focused keywords, and relevant backlinks created a more sustainable SEO framework for future growth.
