Despotism 3k save editor (profile & run)

Decrypts compatible .dat saves in-browser, edits dialogManager.serializedDialogs, profile achievement flags, and levelManager values, then re-encrypts using the same method detected on upload.

Quit the game and disable Steam Cloud before replacing files. Back up profile.dat — guides warn achievement edits are hard to undo.

Quick FAQ

Common questions about profile and gamesave .dat files, Steam Cloud, and the community decrypt workflow.

Which files can I upload?: profile_STEAMID.dat (settings & achievement tracking) or gamesave_STEAMID.dat (active run). Upload the encrypted .dat or a JSON you already decrypted with the community Python tool.
Do I need to disable Steam Cloud?: Yes — quit the game, turn off Steam Cloud for Despotism 3k, back up the whole Despotism3k folder, then replace files. Re-enable cloud only after verifying the game loads your edit.
Why doesn’t my .dat decrypt here?: If decryption fails, the file may be corrupted or not a Despotism 3k save. You can still use despotism_save_tool.py locally and upload the JSON — edits download as encrypted .dat when you use a .dat filename.
Will editing break achievements?: Guides use profile and run edits to finish achievements faster. Super Munchkin tracking can break if you repeat the same event path in one run — back up profile.dat first.
